Activities that will be implemented in the framework of  International Day of Girl Child 2020, from the members of Youth Voice Network of Organization.

1. Awareness activity “Healthy girls, strong girls”

This activity intend to increase knowledge about menstrual hygiene and menstrual health among adolescent girls.  10 teenage girls will visit the Public Health Promotion Center and will receive information on reproductive health, personal care, the importance of going to health centers as soon as possible for counseling and support in case of health complications.

2. Video promotion “Girls are Unstoppable!

This activity will adopt a holistic approach where young people from different grades of Petro Nini Luarasi High School will prepare and present a short video about empowering the adolescent girls. If effectively supported during the adolescent years, girls have the potential to change the world – both as the empowered girls of today and as tomorrow’s workers, mothers, entrepreneurs, mentors, household heads, and political leaders. An investment in realising the power of adolescent girls upholds their rights today and promises a more equitable and prosperous future, one in which half of humanity is an equal partner in solving the problems of climate change, political conflict, economic growth, disease prevention, and global sustainability.

3. Awareness activity “That’s my Girl”

On the first week of October we will launch “That’s my Girl” story activity, which will have the goal to promote womens and girls, what they have achieved and how they can be inspiring for other girls. Parents, Aunts, best friends etc can write a short story about their girl child, friends, etc about their achievement, succeses and their strengths. These stories will be published online at Epoka e Re social media pages and web pages to promote them.   Also we will organize a meeting with Girl Scouts group (aged 13-17 years old) and their mothers/ aunts, grandmothers ect) that have made a carrier, to share with them their experience and also to inspir, empower and increase their self-esteem, lidership skills and support them.

4. Capacity building activity “Let’s Y-talk over a tea”

This activity will be organised as an informing session with the 5th grade at the school premises. We will use quiz with question on some female celebrities’ achievements in different fields, celebrating in this way achievements by, with and for girls since the adoption of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action. We can modify some information according to this year topic decided by UN.

Awareness activity “My voice, our equal future”

In the framework of the International Day of the Girl Child, Act for Society in collaboration with UNFPA, UNWOMEN and UNICEF will organize an activity in the high school “Mersin Duqi” Ibë. Representatives of UN Agencies will discuss about respecting the Rights of Girl Child with “Mersin Duqi” students. After the discussion, young people will prepare letters dedicated to the Girl Child with the topic: “My voice, our equal future.”
